IT in the District

Role of NIC District Unit: The NIC District Unit was set up in the year 1996. Since then this centre is in pursuit of spreading of IT culture in the district. The NICNET is extensively used by the District Administration for data communication to State Capital. A Local Area Network was setup by the District Administration spanning the entire DM's Office complex. The NIC District Unit has trained most of the employees of the District Administration and the Sub Divisional Administration.


A glimpse of various Applications/Services developed and replicated by this NIC District Unit is outlined below:


eSuvidha Project: This is a single window based citizen centric application software has been implementing in all Sub Divisional Magistrate Office under this District. Site preparation and machines installation has been completed. Presently this is operationalise in SDM, Ambassa and Kamalpur Office. Internet connectivity through VSAT with VoIP facility available in all SDM Offices.This software has been developed by NIC, Tripura State Unit using SQL server database and VB in frontend and replicated in all SDM Offices. All certificates (Citizenship,PRC,Income, ST,SC,OBC (State/Central) etc are generating from Computer through eSuvidha Package.

Community Information Centre: CIC is functional in all BDO Office in this District. SGRY (Sampoorna Gramin Rojgar Yojana),Gramodaya etc web enabled project has been functioning in CIC Centres. ASSP (Asanghotitha Sramik Shayaika Prokolpa ) Software developed by NIC, Tripura State Unit also implemented in all CIC in this District. One Indian Airlines counter has been opened in CIC Ambassa for selling Indian Airlines Tickets. CIC Centres are earning revenue through conducting various Computer Training Programs (CLP- IGNOU) .Certificates are issuing from IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) after successful completion of course.

ICT Infrastructure for Video Conferrencing Studio: ICT Infrastucture for VIDEO CONFERRENCING studio has been established in this District HQ Complex. SCPC DAMA VSAT has been established for voice and video transmission.

Transport Computerisation: The software has been developed by NIC HQ and replicated VAHAN software in this District for issuing registration and tax token to the owners of vehicle.

SGSY Monitoring System: SGSY Monitoring System developed in MS ACCESS 2000 and is currently in use at DRDA, Dhalai.This is been replicated in South and North Tripura District. It is working successfully in all the places. The salient features of this application is that it performs all the house keeping job that is not available in the RURALSOFT 2000.

Drinking Water Source Management System(DWSM): The software is developed using MS ACCESS to closely monitor the status of all the drinking water sources in the district. Blockwise, Panchayetwise, Statuswise reports can be generated from the software. This Software was developed by NIC, West Tripura District and replicated in this District.

Payroll Management System(PMS): The software developed by NIC, Tripura State Unit has been successfully implemented in the office of D.M. & Collector. This software also implemented in SDM, Ambassa Office and implementing in all BDO Offices through CIC.

Random Deployment System for Election: This application software was used in Loksabha, Assembly and ADC Election for the purpose of random deployment of Polling / Counting Personnels. Even the appointment letters can be printed thru this software apart from the creation of random groups and creation of random deployment list.
